Harwich Seaport Insights
Harwich Port is the smallest of the three primary cruise ports serving London (Harwich, Southampton, and Dover). It has a single berth and a single terminal, and even during the peak summer season, it only accommodates a cruise ship every other day. Situated along the North Sea coast, it is about 80 miles from London. Next to the cruise terminal there is a ferry terminal with large ferries going to the Netherlands and Scandinavia. Both ferry and cruise terminals are a small part of a much larger port complex. On the other side of the river from Harwich is Felixstowe, one of the UK's largest container ports.
Traveling to and from Harwich Port
In front of the cruise terminal entrance, there is a large coach parking area. If you're not using one of the cruise buses, you can travel from Harwich Port by train. A service runs from the platform next to the Harwich cruise terminal to London Liverpool Street Station, with a dedicated cruise train specifically for cruise passengers. Harwich has two train stations: Harwich Town and Harwich International.
